101 new rental homes were completed in Verkkosaari to meet Helsinki’s growing housing needs. The project, built by SRV, also includes comprehensive shared and commercial facilities as well as smart energy solutions.
SRV built a seven-storey rental housing development with 101 apartments for the City of Helsinki’s Housing Production in Verkkosaari, part of Helsinki’s Kalasatama district. Of the apartments, 20 are special housing units. In addition to the apartments, the ground floor includes shared facilities serving the special housing units and three commercial units.
The project features lifecycle-wise energy solutions, including a geothermal heating system and solar panels.
“More than one hundred new high-quality rental homes are an important part of the housing production needed to support the city’s growth. SRV is a good and long-standing partner of ours in residential construction,” says Merja Rukko, Head of New Production at the City of Helsinki’s Housing Production.
