SRV and NREP jointly developed a new residential block in the centre of Tikkurila, characterised by its brick façades and distinctive, undulating green roof.
Located in central Tikkurila, opposite Vantaa City Hall, the new residential block is a joint project by SRV and NREP. The development will comprise a total of 450 apartments across seven residential buildings.
"Tikkurila is undergoing significant redevelopment, and the new town centre block is one of its most striking projects. It combines a central location, proximity to services and excellent rail connections. The apartments in Tikkurila town centre block are an excellent example of SRV's residential developments, which are located close to good transport connections," says Jorma Seppä, Director responsible for SRV's residential business in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
A diverse range of homes
Five of the block's seven residential buildings will contain owner-occupied apartments. Three of these have already been completed: Tikkurilan Ensimmäinen, Tikkurilan Kolmas and Tikkurilan Viides.
The five-storey Tikkurilan Ensimmäinen has 53 apartments, ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments. Tikkurilan Kolmas is a residential building with 33 apartments, including studios, one-bedroom apartments and larger three-bedroom apartments with saunas. Tikkurilan Viides has 40 apartments, ranging from studios to dual-aspect two-bedroom apartments.
SRV also built two rental apartment buildings for NREP within the block. These are the eight-storey Juli Tikkurilan Verraton, with 194 apartments, and the seven-storey Juli Tikkurilan Onnekas, with 72 apartments.

A distinctive residential block
The buildings enclose a sheltered, green courtyard, which is given a distinctive appearance by its boldly shaped green roof. The main façade material is brick laid on site, with light-coloured brick on the outer façades and warm reddish-brown brick facing the courtyard.
Particular attention has been paid to the ease of furnishing and natural light in the apartments of Tikkurilan Kolmas. The homes have glazed balconies facing the evening sun. Consistent interior materials create a harmonious and attractive overall appearance.

In the heart of a developing Tikkurila
The Helsinki Metropolitan Area will continue to develop particularly around public transport hubs. The population of Tikkurila and its surrounding areas has grown significantly over the past decade, bringing new jobs and services to the area.
Tikkurila railway station, Dixi shopping centre, healthcare services, schools, day care centres and pleasant riverside recreational areas are all within walking distance of the residential block.
The area has excellent transport connections. Both commuter and long-distance trains stop at Tikkurila railway station, from where Helsinki city centre and Helsinki Airport can be reached in less than 15 minutes. By car, the area is accessible via Ring Road III, Tuusula Highway and Lahti Highway.
