Vantaan Lentue is an energy-efficient residential development in Aviapolis, Vantaa, designed with particular attention to lifecycle costs, renewable energy and sustainable construction.
Completed in 2023 in the Veromies district of Vantaa, in the Aviapolis area, Vantaan Lentue comprises 23 homes ranging from studios to one-bedroom apartments. The use of renewable energy and sustainable construction methods make living in this welcoming residential building a responsible choice. A cosy timber-built shared sauna is a distinctive feature of the courtyard.
Homes for a more sustainable future
Special attention was paid to the lifecycle costs and energy solutions of lifecycle-wise Lentue.
The homes have an A energy rating and are heated using geothermal energy. Underfloor heating keeps the homes warm, while underfloor cooling provides comfort during the summer. Solar panels on the roof generate electricity for the building’s needs.
“Energy efficiency and carbon footprint are becoming increasingly important to homebuyers. A home’s energy rating, heating method and the possibility of using renewable energy are important criteria when choosing a home,” says Jorma Seppä, Director responsible for SRV’s residential business in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
Energy as a service
At Lentue, SRV supplies energy to the housing company as a service. We built an energy production system on the site that provides the energy required for heating and cooling the property as well as renewable electricity. This means that the residential development uses locally produced renewable and carbon-neutral energy.
We were responsible for the design, investment and installation of the energy system. The service covers all maintenance, including servicing, repairs and monitoring.
Lentue was also SRV’s first residential development to use geothermal energy.
Surrounded by greenery, with peace and privacy
Lentue is located on the edge of a peaceful green area surrounding the Pytinoja stream in Vantaa. Along the stream are outdoor routes and places to relax, with woodland and rocky hills, as well as a charming small rapid.
Lentue is conveniently located close to major routes, with easy access to Ring Road III and Tuusulanväylä. Public transport connections are good by both bus and train, providing easy access to Helsinki city centre, Helsinki Airport and Jumbo shopping centre.
