SRV to build a new ward building for Jorvi hospital in Espoo
SRV has been chosen to develop and build a new ward building for Jorvi Hospital in Espoo using an alliance model. The client is the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District.
The project is divided into development and construction phase, with a total value of approximately EUR 170 million. The project will be entered in SRV's order backlog after the development phase in the end of year 2022. The procurement decision is not yet final.
Construction of the new ward building in Jorvi Hospital will begin with preliminary work in the summer 2022 and the ward is expected to be in operation in 2026. The total area of the new ward building will be approximately 50,000 gross square meters.
The new ward building in Jorvi Hospital, which includes five floors and a basement, will accommodate a pediatric outpatient clinic, a maternity ward, medical imaging facilities, inpatient wards for various functions and facilities supporting the hospital campus.
”In recent years, we have implemented demanding medical special facilities, such as the Hospital Nova of Central Finland, TAYS Etupiha in Tampere and the New Children's Hospital in Helsinki. We are currently finalising construction work in the Bridge Hospital for HUS and the operating theaters of Jorvi Hospital are in the interior work phase. Both of the projects have progressed on schedule. The development phase of Laakso Joint Hospital has also progressed according to plan. It is important for us to work with different parties and develop solutions for the best of the project - this is how the projects will be implemented excellently,” says Unit director Ossi Inkilä.
