SRV to build seven apartment buildings and two parking facilities for the City of Helsinki in Oulunkylä, Helsinki
SRV and the City of Helsinki have signed a contract for the construction of seven apartment buildings and two parking facilities in Maunula in the Oulunkylä district of Helsinki. The complex will encompass 177 apartments and two parking facilities. The contract will be worth around EUR 32,1 million (incl. VAT at 0 %) for SRV. The project will be implemented as a turnkey contract. The project will be entered into SRV’s order backlog in August. Construction work will begin in autumn 2025, and the project is currently scheduled for completion in summer 2027.
The contract covers two projects with a total gross area of 18,439 square metres. Helsingin Asumisoikeus Oy Maunulantie 25 will have a gross area of 8,291 square metres, and will consist of 97 right-of-occupancy housing units in four apartment buildings and a 29-space parking facility. As Oy Helsingin Syysvilja will be a half HITAS project with a gross area of 10,148 square metres. It will consist of 80 housing units in three apartment buildings and a 75-space parking facility.
“SRV currently has over 500 apartments under construction. In addition to our own housing production, we also carry out a variety of other housing projects, such as the Käkikellokortteli project (HITAS and rental apartments that we are building for the City of Helsinki, and which will be completed in the autumn) and a rental apartment project for the City of Helsinki in Verkkosaarenkatu, which was completed in June,” says SRV’s Kai Remmler, Unit Manager, housing construction in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
“Winning this contract is a good indication of our cost competitiveness and supports our goal of increasing our housing production” Remmler continues.

Solar panels will be installed at both of the new sites in Oulunkylä. The parking facilities and their access ramps will have green roofs, and the apartment buildings’ facades will mainly be clad in wood.
“We are particularly pleased to be able to get the Maunulantie right-of-occupancy project under construction. This is our last right-of-occupancy project funded by Centre for State-Subsidised Housing Construction. This will continue our good cooperation with SRV in the area,” says Merja Rukko, head of the new construction unit at the City of Helsinki’s housing production unit.
