SRV to construct a new defense industry production facility for Jykia
SRV and Jykia have signed an agreement on a production plant to be built in Seppälänkangas, Jyväskylä. The project, which will be implemented as a project management contract, will build new production facilities for the defence and security company Senop. Construction work will begin in late 2025 and the project will be completed at the end of 2026.
The investment value of the project is approximately EUR 10 million, of which the project management contract accounts for approximately EUR 6 million. The project will be recorded in SRV's order backlog until November 2025. The project supports SRV's strategic goal of strengthening the company's leading position in cooperative and other contracting, in which the company is strong, especially in public sector projects.
The approximately 3000-square-metre building comprises an optronics production plant and office premises for Senop's design and product development needs. Senop is a significant Finnish defense and security company with a turnover of EUR 65M and it’s among the largest Finnish defense companies.

"We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Jykia and deliver a new defense industry property. We will bring our strong expertise in industrial projects to the project. Previously we have built a multi-purpose hall for Rauma Marine Constructions for the construction of naval defence vessels in the Rauma shipyard area. In terms of industrial projects, the most recent projects were the completion of a laminated veneer lumber mill for Metsä Group in Jyväskylä, the most environmentally friendly hot-dip galvanizing plant in Europe for Aurajoki Oy in Lieto, and a factory building for Okmetic, a manufacturer of silicon wafers in Vantaa," says Tero Karislahti, Senior Vice President, Regional Units at SRV.
