SRV Housing and Business Premises were merged at the beginning of 2011 to form a single company to handle operations in Finland. Operations in Finland develops and builds housing, retail premises, offices, logistics centres and hotels, as well as underground construction projects and other special premises for its customers. We carry out projects through either developer contracting or project management contracting. Our experts and network of specialist contractors implement them efficiently using the SRV Approach.
Business Premisess
In business premises projects, SRV is a proactive and innovative partner. We bring new perspectives to the table and employ advanced ways of working in order to create solutions with an eye on overall economy. In addition to project management expertise, SRV is thoroughly well-versed in different business areas. In all types of contracts we can create productive premises that support our customers' business operations thanks to our strong stakeholder networks. That said, clients gain the greatest added value when we are involved in demanding projects from day one.
SRV's scalable operating model enabled the rapid start-up of projects and acceptance of new orders.
In spite of the uncertainty in the air in 2011, SRV once again managed to claim a higher market share, and the order backlog of Business Premises posted moderate growth, improving on last year’s record figures. In a tough market, it’s more important than ever to have a great track record – the projects we have implemented led to many new orders, especially from long-term customers. Thanks to our scalable operating model, we were able to accept large orders and fast-track new construction projects.
Housing
SRV's housing production focuses on growth centres, where structural demand provides a strong foundation for expanding housing construction. The engine of housing construction is small apartments with good access to public transport and services. Housing production has increased its’ share from Group revenue and SRV has rapidly claimed its place among the largest housing constructors in Finland.
Growth in the best locations
The residences that are now in greatest demand are high-quality two- and three-room apartments in prime locations with excellent transport connections. In our view, urbanisation, the smaller size of households and the ageing of the population will continue to maintain demand for small apartments for many years to come. We also believe that good transport connections and services will play a growing role. SRV's residences meet these needs - and will thus retain their value in spite of the ups and downs of the market.
Strong growth in housing production continued through 2011 and is at SRV’s all time record level.
Thanks to the robust growth in developer contracting, SRV became the second-largest developer contractor of housing in the Greater Helsinki Area.
